* 75% of women diagnosed with BC are over 50.
* One of the most common symptoms is an abnormal lump or mass. Changes in size, shape or color should be checked by a physician promptly.
* Breast implants do not play a role in developing BC.
* About 70% of women diagnosed with BC had no identifiable risk factors.
* Using anti-persperants has not been proven to increase your risk for BC.
* Going meat, dairy or caffeine free will not prevent BC but can be healthy for some people for other reasons.
* Women are 100 times more likely to develop BC over men.
* BC is the second most reported cancer. (Lung takes first place.)
* The best survival rate corresponds to the earliest detection.
* Get to know your breasts on a monthly basis. Annual mammograms if you are over 40. *

Hi! My name is Lesa and I was diagnosed with breast cancer on June 22, 2007. I have undergone 2 biopsies, sentinel node biopsy, a mastectomy, chemo, radiation, Herceptin and Tamoxifen. I had breast reconstruction Dec. 2008 – my Christmas gift to me!
